Project Features:
Provide Contract Drawings, Specifications, Construction Cost Estimate, Engineering Calculations, and subsequent Construction Period Services to Correct Legionella Deficiencies, including:
- A monitoring system that continuously shows and records the water temperature and residual chlorine of the hot and cold water loops throughout buildings 1, 4, 28, 29, and 35. Work shall include but not be limited to:
- Tying into the existing Energy Management Control system or equivalent monitoring system that is compatible to the existing system. If no system is compatible, a new system (SCADA) can be considered;
- The placement of temperature sensors at the beginning, end, and at various locations throughout the hot and cold water loops, and at the supply and return at the water heaters;
- The placement of chlorine sensors at the water entrance point from the city at the Amarillo Blvd. line and the 9th Ave. line, and at the beginning of the hard water loop by the water tower, at the point entering the water tower. Chlorine sensors also need to be place at the point where the water enters buildings 1, 4, 28, 29, & 35.
- The plumbing in buildings 1, 4, 28, 29, and 35 will need to be updated and modified to help prevent Legionella. Work shall include but not be limited to:
- Modification of any current mixing valves as needed to regulate water temperature so that water is discharged from faucets/showers at 110 degrees Fahrenheit or below;
- The placement of new mixing valves to regulate water temperature so that water is discharged from faucets/showers at 110 degrees Fahrenheit or below;
- Eliminate all dead end water lines and plumbing fixtures that are no longer needed, and all dead end piping removed back to main line;
- Remove walk-in tubs in buildings 1, and 29;
- Provide a single line diagram of the hot and cold water lines for buildings 1, 4, 28, 29, and 35;
- Hot water loop heaters capable of producing greater than 130 ° F with return no less than 124 ° F.
