James “Mike” Summers, PE
Mr. Summers has 45 years of civil engineering and project management experience. His expertise encompasses design, analysis and coordination of major projects as well as finite element computer modeling, dynamic analysis of nuclear and fossil power plants, civil/structural design, master drainage plans, utility rate studies, ultrasonic testing, and expert testimony. Mr. Summers has performed on projects around the world.
As an AES Group Principal, Mr. Summers is responsible for engineering activities from the initial concept through final acceptance, for clients ranging from private developers to local, state and federal government. He excels at cultivating clients and partnerships from his extensive military background.
Cade L. Benson, PE
Mr. Benson has 50 years of civil and structural engineering experience. He has been in a management position for both small and large engineering companies. His duties have included personnel assignments, project scheduling, budgeting, design, analysis and specifications. Mr. Benson has worked on many engineering projects for municipalities, both as a project manager and a designer. Mr. Benson has performed on projects around the world.
As an AES Group Principal, Mr. Benson provides overall executive management of the small consulting engineering firm. Duties include all aspects of managing an engineering business and project management for engineering projects, both in government and in the private sector.
Mr. Ostler has 45 years of experience providing engineering, project management and construction expertise for a variety of industries. He has managed a multitude of design and design-build projects for VA hospitals and various federal facilities across the US. He has been involved in numerous retrofits for buildings, consolidating existing loads, panels and circuits into new and existing distribution systems, He manages multiple AES contracts for construction services, and oversees electrical engineering components of complex design projects.
As an AES Group Principal, Mr. Ostler provides guidance and direction for marketing efforts for AES, including proposals, quotes and selection of subcontractors.
Vice President of Administration and Contracts
Responsible for ensuring all contract administration is performed in accordance with the FAR and ensures the contracting activities are in full compliance with the government requirements. Supervises and directs all administrative and IT activities.
Ms. Benson's day to day activities include the personnel and financial mangement of the company as well as Project Management for design-build roofing projects.
Andrea L. Keough, PE
Vice President of Operations/ Project Manager
Mrs. Keough’s responsibilities include supervision and direction of all operational activities. She is a senior civil engineer and has performed project management for large and complex projects at federal facilities. She is also adept at technological support for internal computer infrastructure and software management including Microsoft products, AutoCAD, Revit and more.
Mrs. Keough’s day to day duties include oversight of AES project management, subcontractor management, drafting, QA/QC, and design for large projects at VA medical facilities and DoD facilities, as well as some private/commercial projects.
Richard "Rik" Day, Jr., PE
Principal Engineer/Project Manager
Mr. Day's duties include analysis design of building structural systems, both residential and commercial, utilizing wood, steel, masonry and reinforced concrete. Projects range in size from 2,000 to 40,000 square feet. He also performs design of site grading and drainage, determining storm piping, flow routing and required detention for 10, 50, and 100 year storm recurrences intervals. Mr. Day has performed structural inspections for numerous insurance claims and related failures.
Mr. Day is a Project Manager for large projects including the Pikes Peak National Cemetery deisgn, and is instrumental in maintaining the steady flow of smaller, residential projects performed for local contractors.
Dedia H. Hart, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Senior Architect/Project Manager
Ms. Hart brings an extensive range of experience in project types for private, commercial, military and government clients. These project types include variety of medical office buildings, laboratory facilities, administrative, athletic, dormitory and classroom environments, sensitive compartmentalized information facilities, military working dog facilities and residential projects. Project work has included facility evaluations, repairs, remodels/renovations, addition/alterations and new construction with budgets and sizes across the board.
As a LEED Professional, she is familiar with Green Globes and LEED documentation and coordination for sustainable design projects. She also performs as a Project Manager for large scale design projects.
Craig Turner, PE
Senior Engineer/Project Manager
Mr. Turner's experience includes design of power distribution systems, substation expansions, medium voltage switchgear and associated control and monitoring systems, service entrance replacement, control systems, lighting upgrades, fire detection systems, emergency backup systems, and utility metering systems. He is proficient with ETAP, Easy Power, SEL AcSELerator, AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise, ComCheck, Mathcad, Rockwell Software for PLC programming, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
Mr. Turner's day to day activities include Project Managment for VA hospital projects, and mentoring for junior engineering staff.
