Project Features:
AES is providing a $3 million master plan, schematic design, and design development documents for a new VA Southern Colorado National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, CO. The site is approximately 374 acres. The AES Team provided the master plan for the entire site, and will provide full design for approximately 45 acres, or 125,000 grave sites.
AES provided Master Plan 1 – 5, Schematic Design 1 & 2, and Design Development 1 & 2 documentation. This process includes design review meetings and workshops, drawings, specifications, and Basis of Design reports. AES is providing Construction Documents and Bid Documents.
AES is performing architecture, civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering, life safety, communications, and physical security design for a Public Information Center (PIC) / Administration Building, 2 Committal Service Shelters, an Honor Guard Building, and a Maintenance Complex. Also included are columbarium, cremains sites, and ossuary. The site design includes design of roadways, irrigation, landscaping, signage, and all utilities and coordination with local municipalities for service. The project will be LEED Silver Certified.
