Cargo Area Engineering Study
Denver International Airport
Role: Structural, Geotechnical
Project Features:
- Detailed structural and geotechnical engineering study to determine the cause and extent of damage to the building resulting from expansive soils.
- Damage to buildings and to adjacent infrastructure was extensive, due to swell in the underlying soils. Since this swell is caused by the infiltration of water, a main focus of the investigation was to find where the water was being introduced. To assist in this investigation, cameras were run through storm sewers and drain pipes to check for breaks or cracks.
